About Us

The Bone Steelers are a Scottish based rugby club that brings together international legends to compete annually at the Dubai Rugby Sevens.


Bone Steelers Formed in 2004 by former Scotland rugby Captain Andy Nicol and Colin Bone, former Managing Director of Bone Steel, the management now also includes Jeremy Bone, Gary Heatly and Keith Dobson and former internationalists Rowen Shepherd overseeing sponsorship and Stuart Reid head of team selection.


In 2004 the Bone Steelers made an outstanding debut in the International Invitation tournament at the Dubai Rugby Sevens reaching the plate final. In 2005 the team lifted the International Invitation plate and in 2006 reached the quarter finals of the trophy.


In 2009 the Bone Steelers returned to the Dubai Rugby Sevens stage with a group of former legends of the game including Gregor Townsend, Glenn Metcalfe and Duncan Hodge to compete in the International Veterans Tens Tournament where they reached the semi finals of the trophy.


The Bone Steelers are renowned for brining together some of the biggest names in world rugby to compete in the shortened version of the game, whilst helping to raise money for various sports related charities.
